I love working with children because they teach me so much about how to be an artist. Rule #1: There are no rules.
A child thinks he or she paints like Picasso, Renoir, Basquiat, Goya and maybe even Michelangelo. Somewhere along the way, society teaches them to compare. To compare themselves to others. To compare their work with that of others. To judge themselves in contrast with others. Maybe that is why the masters made the work they made, because they didn't believe it... or at least didn't want to believe that. Many times, society teaches children that they are not creative. I think that is terrible. Making art is about the way you feel when you are making it. It is a way of being human. of going back to the most basic way of communication, of consulting with your ancestors, of loving life.
Going through the process of creating something is good for us. Not only is it very therapeutic for all humans who have experienced trauma (which is like 99.999 % of us), but its good for our health in general. When I paint with children, I make an effort to focus on how they are experiencing the process of creating, I try to help them through it, but mostly I focus on making it fun and stimulating for them.
One of the goals I am working on is to become a child art therapist and volunteer my time to work with children who have experienced trauma or who are neurodivergent.

$100 + canvas per child
Minimum of 2 students per session, maximum of 5 students per session (exceptions depending on the situation).
Includes a 2.5 hour private, group session with your children and their friends.

Includes 10 edited photos of your child painting and all digital files of images taken (total amount of images taken may vary but are usually around 50).
